Position Overview

As a Careers Advisor, you will provide guidance and support to individuals in making informed decisions about their career paths and educational choices. Your role is to assess individuals' interests, skills, and goals, and help them explore various career options, identify suitable educational programs, and develop strategies to achieve their career objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one career counselling sessions with individuals to understand their interests, strengths, and aspirations.

  • Administer and interpret career assessments and tests to assess individuals' aptitudes and interests.

  • Provide information and guidance on different career pathways, educational programs, and training opportunities.

  • Help individuals develop career goals and create personalised action plans to achieve them.

  • Assist with resume writing, cover letter preparation, and interview skills development.

  • Offer advice on job search strategies, networking, and professional development opportunities.

  • Stay updated on current labor market trends, industry requirements, and educational advancements.

  • Collaborate with educational institutions, employers, and industry professionals to provide accurate and relevant information to individuals.

  • In-depth knowledge of career development theories, labor market trends, and educational pathways.

  • Strong counselling and communication skills to establish rapport and guide individuals effectively.

  • Excellent listening skills to understand individuals' needs and provide appropriate guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Career Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Relevant experience in career counselling, coaching, or advising is highly desirable.
