Position Overview

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure to ensure the smooth and secure operation of an organization's communication systems. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing network performance, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and secure network solutions, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and network security systems.

• Configure and maintain network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Monitor network performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement or optimization.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and vendors.

• Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cybersecurity threats.

• Perform regular network maintenance tasks, including firmware upgrades and patch management.

• Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices in networking.

  
  

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security concepts.

• Proficiency in configuring and managing network equipment, such as Cisco routers and switches.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and other networking technologies.

• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

• Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Project management skills to plan and execute network infrastructure projects.

  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a network engineer, preferably in a senior or lead role.

• Professional certifications, such as CCNP or CCIE, are highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security.

• Experience with network equipment, such as Cisco routers and switches.

• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
