Position Overview

As a Room Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in hotel rooms or other accommodation facilities. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming for a pleasant stay.


Responsibilities

  • Clean and tidy guest rooms according to established standards and procedures.

  • Change bed linen, make beds, and ensure all amenities are replenished.

  • Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures.

  • Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and showers.

  • Remove trash and dispose of waste in a hygienic manner.

  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.

  • Maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.

  • Respond to guest requests or complaints regarding room cleanliness or amenities.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to provide a safe environment for guests and staff.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and cleaning agents.

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.

  • Good time management skills to complete tasks within designated timeframes.

  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve bending, stooping, and lifting


Qualifications

  • School diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience as a room attendant or in a similar cleaning role is preferred but not required.
